Place Tax Levy on Trust if SSNs Are the Same?

Answered by:

Question:
Can a tax levy be placed on a trust account if the SSNs are the same?
Answer:

The question is pretty broad, so the answer will fit the same expanse. Yes, assuming it's an IRS levy. If the trust carries an SSN it must be revocable and the trustors could still access the funds. Thus, the funds are not effectively protected from the IRS. Moreover, the trustors have 21 days to convince the IRS otherwise.
