Procedures for multi-state branch networks

Answered by:

Question:
We have branch offices in three states. Do we need separate garnishment procedures for each state?
Answer:

Your bank might want to have a policy to cover the handling of garnishment orders in general that acknowledges the unique laws of each of those states and directs that procedures be adopted to comply with the applicable state requirements. Those requirements may depend on the location of the branch where the account was opened and the residence or headquarters of your customer whose funds are being garnished.
