Prohibited Bases of Discrimination

Question:
Is age a prohibited basis of discrimination under the Fair Housing Act?
Answer:

No. Age is not a prohibited basis of discrimination under the Fair Housing Act, but age discrimination if prohibited by the Equal Credit Opportunity Act. Examiners monitor compliance with both laws during a Fair Lending examination.
