Reg E Statute of Limitations on Claims

Answered by:

How far back can a cardholder report unauthorized activity?

There is NO statute of limitations on when a consumer can file a claim. While some investigation requirements may not apply due to a prolonged period between the EFTs and the claim, the liability rules will apply. The bank will have more time to complete the claim as evidence may be hard to get and certainly to get quickly.
