Regulation For Furnishers Of Credit

Answered by:

Question:
What regulations cover information for furnishers of credit information to CRAs. FCRA appears to cover the majority of it, but there is one section of Reg B (1002.10) that covers the requirements for reporting spouses. Are there any other regs that discuss the requirements of the furnishers of credit information?
Answer:

There is also Subpart E (Duties of Furnishers of Information) of CFPB Regulation V (12 CFR Part 1022). This subpart includes sections titled "Reasonable policies and procedures concerning the accuracy and integrity of furnished information" and "Direct disputes."

Regulation V also includes Appendix E, "Interagency Guidelines Concerning the Accuracy and Integrity of Information Furnished to Consumer Reporting Agencies."
