Remove Funds from HSA to Pay Charged-Off Acct?

Answered by:

Question:
Can we legally remove funds from an HSA to pay a charged-off account?ran
Answer:

It is a complex issue and you need to visit with legal counsel. State law will be an important part of the decision. Also, since the HSA is technically held by the bank as a custodian and not the individual, you have some "mutuality of debt" and potential conflicts of interest issues to overcome.
