For sold loans in 2017 reporting, how do we report a loan that is planned to be sold but the sale is not yet finalized by 12/31/2017?

Answer:

The answer is the same for 2017 and 2018: if the loan sale is not completed by 12/31 of the reporting year, report that the loan was not sold in the calendar year, Code 0. HMDA is reporting as of a point in time, 12/31 of the reporting year. Similarly, do not report loans that you plan to purchase when the purchase transaction is not yet completed by 12/31 of the reporting year.
