Resolving Business Debit Card Dispute

Answered by:

Question:
What are the regulations regarding the handling of a business credit card dispute? I understand that Regulation CC applies, but does not cover how to handle provisionary credits, etc. In the case of unauthorized charges being made to a business debit card do Regulation E rules concerning provisionary credits, investigation time frames, etc. apply?
Answer:

Regulation E does not have provisions dealing with business debit cards. You need not provide provisional credit, nor do you need to follow the Section 205.11 procedures at all.

You are free to deal with your handling of disputed EFTs in any way permitted by your contract with the customer.
