Is it acceptable to file an SAR when the total amount involved in the suspicious activity is less than $5000 dollars?
Answer: 

Certainly. There is a provision in the SAR filing regulations that permits the filing of a SAR even if the dollar threshold for mandatory filing has not been reached.
