Sole Prop Have 1+ Business Under the Same EIN?

Question:
Can a sole proprietor have more than one business under the same EIN (this is not an LLC)?
Answer:

Answer by Kathleen Blanchard: An individual is not limited in the number of sole proprietorships they can operate.

Answer:

Answer by Ken Golliher: If Kaybee is the local entrepreneur and operates:

* Kaybee's Car Wash
* The East Side Eatery and
* Frills' Dress Shop

as sole proprietorships there is still only one employer: Kaybee. She only needs one EIN.

The EIN is assigned to the individual, not the "business."
