SS Card Stamped for Work: Use to Open Account?

Answered by:

Question:
If a client has a Social Security card stamped for work only, can that be used for opening accounts in a bank?
Answer:

Totally up to the bank. The card means the person has been admitted to the US on a temporary basis who have DHS authorization to work, which authorization may or may not have expired.
