Is there a bait money requirement?

Question:
Is there a statute or regulation that still specifically requires us to stock teller drawers with bait money, or is entirely optional?
Answer:

Answer by Andy Zavoina:

208.61(c)(2) lists required security devices. Bait money, while possibly being a part of your policy, is not on this list.

Answer by Dana Turner:

Please search the Security Forum threads for "bait money" for a variety of questions and responses about this topic. Andy's correct -- there is no such requirement. Many of us in the security field suggest that you might like to do away with bait money -- and "bill traps" -- entirely. I believe that there are better things for you to do than chase the bills -- and bait money only contributes to less than 1% of all bank robbery captures (according to the FBI).
