Titling an LLC With a SSN

Answered by:

Question:
How would we title an LLC using a Social Security number?
Answer:

The account's styling will need to reflect the name of the LLC member whose SSN is being used:

Michael Member
123 Main Toys LLC
[Address]

The challenge is to make certain that your staff recognizes that the account is not owned by Michael Member, but by the LLC. It might be helpful to make the first line something like "Michael Member, Member of" to help raise that flag. Making that distinction will be important if you are ever served with a levy or other legal document naming Michael Member. The LLC account would not be covered by such a document.
