Understanding baseline behavior

Question:
While attending a class on interviews the instructor kept discussing the baseline. The instructor never defined what is a baseline?
Answer:

When first questioning a person, you ask questions where you know the answers. You watch carefully the persons responses and how they react to you. When you start to ask questions, you don’t know the answer to you watch for changes in the persons behavior, body language and the way they frame their answers to your questions. The baseline was the original questions where you determine what a person looks like telling the truth.
