As I’m sure you have seen; violence is up across our country. While we can’t do anything to prevent crime and violence as a whole, we can make ourselves less of a target. I would advise to start with an assessment of your facility, your policies and procedures, and your training. This will give you valuable information concerning weaknesses that should be addressed. Effective employee training must be conducted regularly – not just robbery training, but also training that addresses handling angry customers, recognizing pre-inc ident indicators, de-escalation skills, and active shooter.
