Warranties and Liabilities in the ACH Network

Question:
Aren’t ODFIs responsible for everything in the ACH Network?
Answer:

No. RDFIs can take on liability in their daily handling of transactions; for example, if returns are not timely or if they mishandle an exception, the RDFI can become liable. Other participants, like Third-Party Senders, take on liability by contract with the ODFI.
