I​f​ a wife has POA for her husband can she ​add herself as authorized signer and add herself as the ​pay-on-death beneficiary?
Answer: 

The power of attorney document and state law will dictate what authorities the attorney-in-fact has. If your institution is not sure, then request that bank counsel review applicable laws and the power of attorney prior to changing ownership.
