Part 1033 - Personal Financial Data Rights

On October 22, 2024, the CFPB released a final Personal Financial Data Rights Rule that would amend Part 1033. On the same day, several lawsuits were filed to block the Bureau's rulemaking.
The final rule was published at 89 FR 90838 on 11/18/2024. Subject to the outcome of the litigation, the rules effective date is 1/17/2025. Compliance with the requirements in subparts B and C are April 1, 2026; April 1, 2027; April 1, 2028; April 1, 2029; or April 1, 2030, depending on the criteria set forth in § 1033.121(c).
