When setting up businesses for online banking, ACH, and remote deposit capture, does the bank maintain control over users of the business or do they set up an administrator for the business for them to maintain?
Under the updated FFIEC guidance for online banking environments, are individuals operating DBA's that do not engage in high risk transactions, such as ACH/Wire origination, required to have the same layers of security as larger commercial accounts? The guidance seems to suggest that all commercial accounts require enhanced security. However, most of the small DBA's function as individuals with limited online banking activity.
Is accidentally exposing the incorrect check images to customers via online banking considered a reportable event for information security and privacy purposes? I am thinking that it is, since users can save the images to their desktop or other device. The check images are not images of the online banking user's checks, but of other customers' checks that contain bank account number, name, address and a signature.
