Number 8 is correct:
Number 6 was sung by a doctor. Singing was his hobby. Was a number 1 hit in the early 80' s!

Ok...anon...Z you certainly know your music! Numbers 1,3,5,7,9 are correct. Ride Captain Ride was Blues Image. more later... Bonus is correct also...did J D Souther sing with a band at one time?
JD's first signing with a record company was in a band with Glenn Frey (Eagles). They recorded an album. He collaborated on some of the Eagles' biggest hit songs like "Best of My Love," "Heartache Tonight," and "New Kid in Town." Previous to forming the Eagles, Glenn Frey had also played in Linda Ronstadt's band. Frey's connection with Ronstadt would lead to Souther having a long term collaboration with Ronstadt. He produced her 1973 album Don't Cry Now and performed background vocals on it. Many of Ronstadt's albums would feature Souther's songs from then on, and he often performed as a vocalist on them as well. In the early 70s, he formed the Souther Hillman and Furay Band with Chris Hillman and Ritchie Furay (both from the Byrds). Between releasing his own albums, he also worked as a session player with Don Henley (Eagles) and Danny Kortchmar (as an aside: Kortchmar was a session artist for Linda Ronstadt, Warren Zevon, Harry Nilsson, Carol King, Jackson Browne and others. In 1982, Kortchmar co-wrote a number of tracks on Don Henley's solo debut I Can't Stand Still most notably the smash "Dirty Laundry"). Souther collaborated with James Taylor on his song "Her Town Too," (did you remember that song was a duet?) which appeared on Taylor's 1981 album.

Here's a couple more- who sang these (no fair looking them up on allmusic.com!)
"Indiana Wants Me" "Disco Inferno" "Venus"(kind of a rocker, maybe early 70s?) "The Rapper" (another early 70s rock song) "I Had Too Much To Dream Last Night"- (60s pyschedelic genre)

"Indiana Wants Me" "Disco Inferno" "Venus"(kind of a rocker, maybe early 70s?) Not the Frankie Avalon song. Shocking Blue and then remade by the Bananarama "The Rapper" (another early 70s rock song) - Jaggerz "I Had Too Much To Dream Last Night"- (60s pyschedelic genre)
I answered the first ones and did not look them up on allmusic.com or I would have gotten them all correct.

The cast album is pretty good, though. The music was written by the two dudes from ABBA, you know.

This "failed" musical was one of my favorites of all time. I wish it would have caught on like Cats did. The album is great, and sells well in stores, go figure.
