Employee started Monday for PT position, Tues tells us she's been dx with breast cancer. Needs 2 weeks off for surgery, then treatment, etc. We do not offer LOA to PT ees at all, and my inclination would be to terminate her at the point when she is absent, with the offer of rehire when she's cleared to RTW. My attorney warns me about ADA. Any suggestions, comments?

Anon, in order to provide you some direction, if you are not already a registered BOL user, please do so and send me a PM. Since these are open forums, I would be hestitant in discussing possible remedies in public about this type of privacy issue. Thanks.
