We are taking this opportunity to discontinue sending original checks (or substitue checks) back to customers with their statements. We have approximatel 60 customers that this will effect. We will send ALL customers images. My question is when is there a ligitimate need for an original or substitute check (other than returned item)? Generally we provide only copies. I seem to remember something about real estate trusts needing the originals back or soon subsititute checks. If so, do they legitimately need all checks or just the occassional check back?
