doesnt another BOLer have a similar story? Yes. I also had a relative apply with Wells Fargo. He didn't show any cleavage, but got the job anyway.

Only his wit - he started by asking the interviewer what he would see if he looked down a mole hole...

Wish her good luck for us, Dip. Does she view this as a job or a career?

Thanks Babo! She's still in college and I didn't think she was goin for banking but she did mention wanting to work up. I think it's great for her--she's worked food only before. She's smart though. She pulls straight a's at her university!
I told her about sales and referrals but tried to stress that she can make a bit of extra money for the teller referral pool (wamu had that when I was there....do other banks still do that?).

Pulling people out of the ditc...

It's a teller position - likely if she can talk without saying "umm" "like" and "you know", make eye contact when speaking, doesn't flip or play with her hair, and is presentable, then she'll get the lowesty paying job available in banking today...

FINALLY ABOVE the gnat line

If wf is in the sales referral business, it really wouldn't hurt for her to become familiar with their product line.

If Wells Fargo allows customers to open accounts online, perhaps she could open a checking or savings account online and then discuss the process in some way in her interview. I agree with waldensouth, perhaps she could check their website and learn what types of products are offered and what the differences are. Wish her luck from all of us, Dip.
