Good morning,

One of our policies mentions op-outs from prescreened lists and states "once the agencies finalize the regulations on expanded opt-outs for prescreened lists...." This language was put in place by the prior Compliance Manager and I am not familiar with what it is referencing. The only thing I could find was informing consumers that they had the right to opt out with the credit bureaus sharing their information for prescreening. Any info would be appreciated.

Hard to say without knowing how old it is. Maybe it was related to the transfer of authority from the FTC to the CFPB for financial institutions in 2019 regarding pre-screened offers via the changes made by the DFA?
