CTR on a Non-profit Organization

Answered by:

Question:
When completing a CTR for a non-profit organization which has collected over $10k in cash, do we have to get the details (ID info) from the person(s) dropping off the cash and picking up the cashier's check, or is it sufficient to have the ID info of the person of the organization's collection? We take in cash from the non-profit organization and give them a cashier's check payable to the organization.
Answer:

You have to get the infromation from the conductor of the transaction and place that information in Section B of the CTR.
