Rule for Passing Nonpublic Client Information

Answered by:

Question:
Can banks pass nonpublic client information across their lines of business? Example: Home loans passes information to a credit card line of business.
Answer:

As long as it is in the same bank, there is no prohibition. If these lines are actually affiliates, then you would have to comply with the FCRA requirements.
