In the past there has been talk of requiring websites to comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act, but no action was taken. Has anything changed that we need to be aware of?

Answer:

While it certainly does not hurt to make your website ADA compliant, there was a court case (Southwest Airlines) which ruled that the ADA did not apply to websites. This was mentioned in this BOL Blog.
