OFAC designations and general licenses added

On May 5, 2016, OFAC announced:
- Three Kingpin Act General Licenses authorizing certain transactions and activities that would otherwise be prohibited under the Act:
- General License 2, "Authorizing Certain Transactions and Activities to Wind Down Operations for the Hotel Operating at Millennium Plaza, Panama,”
- General License 3, “Authorizing Certain Transactions and Activities Necessary to Maintain Existing Operations of La Estrella and El Siglo Newspapers,” and
- General License 4, “Authorizing Certain Transactions Involving Individuals or Entities Located in the Panamanian Mall, Soho Panama, S.A. (a.k.a. Soho Mall Panama).”
- Three Frequently Asked Questions related to the new General Licenses
- The addition of nine individuals and 69 entities to its Specially Designated Nationals List
