Venezuela-related General License and new regs

OFAC has posted a Notice that it is:

  • Issuing Venezuela-related General License 40B, "Authorizing Certain Transactions Involving the Exportation or Reexportation of Liquefied Petroleum Gas to Venezuela"
  • Adding new Hostages and Wrongful Detention Sanctions Regulations at 31 CFR Part 526, to implement a July 19. 2022, Executive Order related to hostage-taking and wrongful detention of a United States national. These regulations will be published in the Federal Register on July 11, 2023, and effective on publication.
  • UPDATE: Published 7/11/23 at 88 FR 44052.
