Can A Revocable Trust Be A POD on Estate Account

Answered by:

Question:
Can a revocable trust be a POD on an estate account?
Answer:

An estate is an entity and therefore will not die. Consequently estate accounts will not have a beneficiary. If the decedent's will directs the estate's assets to be deposited into a trust account, it will be up to the estate's executor or administrator to comply with your state's probate laws for establishing an estate account and issuing checks to a trust.
