Enforcement Action

Question:
Have the agencies taken any action against influencers?
Answer:

In April 2017, the FTC demonstrated that it was monitoring the accounts of popular influencers by sending out more than 90 letters to celebrities, athletes, and other influencers to educate them regarding their responsibilities under FTC Endorsement Guides and other advertising laws. And in September 2017, the FTC sent warning letters to 21 of those influencers, citing specific postings of concern.

Subsequent enforcement action was taken against several individuals and companies.
