I think Gobble's Knob is just the hill where they do Groundhog Day. The town is Punxatawney. TJ might be able to verify that.

Truth Or Consequences, NM Some trivia. T or C was originally Hot Springs, NM. The high school there is still Hot Springs High School, actually. There was apparently a show on TV in the 50's called Truth or Consequences, and they offered some cash prize for a town willing to rename itself. Hot Springs took them up on it. My mom remembers her high school band (from a couple hundred miles away) marching in the big parade they had to celebrate the occassion. And I know lots of people from Muleshoe. It's just about 50 miles from here. You'd be shocked at how many people who 'ain't from around here' pronounce it mull-ess-hoe. That always cracks me up.
