Pedaling along a scenic highwa...
It's always been Fall. Nothing beats a motorcycle ride at 55 degrees through a bunch of trees while the leaves are changing. I miss Iowa a lot for this reason. I get about 2 weeks of this each year in Oklahoma.

Of course, there is always football season for a reason to love Fall. smile

GoBucs, I do like the longer days of Summer, but I can do without the heat and humidity. One of my favorite saying is, with fall and winter you can always put on more clothes, but with summer, you can only take so much off. whistle

Agree.

I do love the thought of summer, but by the time August rolls around...I'm sick of it. I do wish we could have long days every day tho!

DD, squirrel season starts here on Thursday..I'm shocked..it's WAY to hot to be squirrel season...they gotta still have those leeches on them! eek

Appropos of nothing, I saw a Honda Goldwing going down the road with a bike rack on the back of it with a Cervelo on it. It made me laugh and smile! smile

FINALLY ABOVE the gnat line
It was 104 here Tuesday, 89 yesterday, and 91 today - hot, muggy, uncomfortable - definitely not a dry heat. Too hot to stay outside and do anything - for me anyway. Not to mention the gnats - they go away with Autumn. This is why I didn't say summer - now when I lived in FL - maybe summer - the breeze off the water keeps those temps bearable.

I've always heard them as "almost summer, summer, still summer, and Christmas."

There are seasons??? Weather has been more like a spastic yo-yo this year. So far since school let out there's been a monsoon season, followed by mosquito season, followed by a cold snap, followed by an almost too long dry spell and then last night it was in the 40s!!! We've actually turned off the pool heater a couple of times so as not to pay to warm the atmosphere. frown

Our county is one of 5 in GA that tests skeeters for blood borne illness. 7 skeeter pools tested positive for WestNile and 1 for EEE this week. eek

Our summer has been more like spring/fall, with frequent rain, and temps that haven't been above 80 since late July. Not great for swimming, but good for most other outdoor activities. And with the Pirates in first place, what more could you ask for?

I enjoy nothing more than a Phx summer. It feels like it's already over for this year; it's been down in the 80s for a low this past week. frown

Not cool!

Though, truthfully all long-suffering Pirate fans are awaiting the inevitable collapse.

Way, way south.
They were doing great last year as well, at least until I went to a game and then the perpetual rapid downward started. Sigh.

Being an Angels fan, their dismal start to the last 2 seasons means things can only get better. crazy
