Just curious as to how many smaller banks have an internal do not call list and if you have anyone request to be on the do not call list?

Why would a customer at a smaller bank not want to be called? Close their account and send them a Cashier's Check.

Ignore the anonymous poster please - they are idiots.

Are you telemarketing to your customers? If not, there is no requirement to maintain an internal do not call list, unless you are engaging in collection activity and have been requested by the debtor to not to call them. Anything other than that would just be an internal policy decision.

I am going to second what Randy said. We do maintain an internal Do Not Call List, which mostly applies to our retail and small business customers.

Telemarketing means marketing by phone so it's pretty broad. Be realistic about your operations and determine if you need one.

Keep in mind that if a list is required you are also required to have policies, procedures, and training.

If you look through many of these threads, one common theme is "close out the account and send them a Cashier's Check". You don't call those posters idiots. So.....

Anonymous 2- the response was likely made because you don't appear to understand the TCPA requirements, which is what the original poster was basing the question on, based on your answer. In General, you are required to maintain an internal do not call list if you call people to try to sell them other bank products or services. Our core has a field for this at the CIF level called "No Call Customer". That is where we would record this. We do not call non-customers for sales call purposes, outside of what the act allows.
