Online Access For Employees

Answered by:

Question:
Our banks would like to pay for each employee to have access to the internet at home. Our hope is that this will decrease the amount of time each employee uses the internet for personal use during business hours. Can we do this?
Answer:

Employer's providing low-cost computers and Internet access is a growing trend. It is simply a benefit of employment and should pose no problems.

I would suggest an agreement between the bank and the employee specifying that the employee is responsible for the content viewed and any charges above the basic fee. There are scams out there that disconnect a user from their ISP and reconnect them to a high cost per minute long distance call, or add the cost of viewing adult content to the telephone bill. Also specify that upon termination, the benefit ceases.
