It was 20 this morning and we had winds with gusts up to 40 mph all night long. It snowed yesterday, melted, snowed some more, etc. The roads are nothing but ice. I hate winter.... I hate La Nina.... Oklahoma weather pattern. Rain, driving winds, freeze. Rain ice, gust of wind, freeze. It doesn't snow much here, but ice. I've gotten pretty good at driving on ice. Last year when it did actually snow, I got stuck. LOL

Mid 50s at night and 80ish days here. I'm not even putting a sheet on the clipped horse at night right now.

Right now it is 2 above with wind chill of -9. This is the first real cold blast we've had. We also received about 3-4 inches of snow yesterday. Supposed to have more tomorrow. Which reminds me...I better get that new spark plug for my snow blower!

Currently -2 with blizzard storm warnings through the day. There's already at least 15 inches on the ground from this weekend, with another 10-12 forecast to fall before tomorrow night.
>> sigh << I'm thinking the decision to register for the 5K "Huffing for Stuffing" run on Thanksgiving morning wasn't such a good one......

^^^^^^^^^ I don't know how y'all do it....5 months of dreary cold bone-numbing weather, where the sun doesn't show it face for days at a time...and you are out exercising in it!!!!
I get cold thinking about it....

So - my son calls......he says that he thinks he has a cold.... that he's been playing out in the snow ever since he woke up this morning and now feels sick....so I tell him to take some emergency and go take a hot shower and he will feel better..... A few minutes later he sends me a picture of a small snowman that he made (it's a snowman that appears to be partially laying under the tire of my car with little sticks making X's for the eyes like I ran him over with the car) and when I examine the picture a little closer I realize that there is a bare foot in the picture. No wonder he feels sick.

Omigosh Boat, that is hilarious! There's a boy for you! How old is he? Pale, we get plenty of sun! The tradeoff for brilliant sunny days, though, is colder weather. At least the clouds hold a bit of warmth in the atmosphere. We call our winters "Texan and Californian control".

I was cleaning the bathroom of my house when I moved in last year and there was a decorative box of "wet wipes" on the toilet tank. I picked it up to throw it away and it made a rattling sound. I opened it and inside was a huge box of matches - the wipe box was a decoy! Yes, they are still there
