We have census tracts for which we want to identify the county and municipality. We tried the FFIEC site. They want address for which we would obtain the tracts. We need to search the opposite. Help.

Do you know the state and county but needs the numbers? You can look up the numbers under the 2011 census data link at the ffiec site. Those have not changed for 2012 but are not yet set up at ffiec.

We have the tract numbers. We are trying to find out the city/county in which they belong. We know the state.

Further South than I wanna be.
Go to FFIEC Census Reports and click on the State. Then click on "Retrieve by County" at the bottom of the page. You may have to do a trial and error to see what county the tract is in. You should have some idea what county your tract is near at least. Then click on "Get Tract List" and see if the tract is in that county. Not a simple way of doing it but unless you have an address within the tract you are using I can't think of any other way.

CRAatBOK. Thanks, we'll try that. I thought it would be realy simple, like reverse phone books, etc. Silly me.
