From Justice.gov:

"A federal court has permanently barred a certified public accountant from San Diego from providing tax advice or preparing federal tax returns that illegally attempt to reduce customers’ taxable income, the Justice Department announced March 29."

Someone had to say you can't continue to do this illegal activity. It wasn't enough that it was illegal in the first place?

in this day and age of no personal responsibility, it is only illegal if you get caught...up to that point, everything goes.

So, this just affects this one dude. The rest of us can keep on keeping on, right?

From the way htat reads, he wasnt barred from giving advice or preparing taxes. He was just barred from giving illeagal advice?

I agree, why wasn't he banned from preparing taxes at all. Gee, in banking if you get in trouble they ban you from working in a bank, shouldn't it be the same in this case??
