Your aura's are different tho, aren't they? Like bright floating specs maybe?

I can take Fioricet (sp?), but I do not like the way it makes me feel so I try to save it for the times when nothing else is working. A lot of the other migraine medications are off limits for me because they lower your blood pressure and mine is already on the low end of normal.

Sorry, my comment was meant for the masses rather than specific. Imitrex used to make me woozy so I know what you mean, RR Becca.

Anybody ever considered Botox for migraines? That's one that scares me...unless it will make me look younger too. smirk

LOL! Sorry. I misunderstood. Little Man is now on day 3 of "I will only sleep while sitting up or being held" so I'm probably not firing on all cylinders. crazy

When my neuro was touting it...it sounded like it was the same thing...I made some off-handed joke about the 'left-overs'...more recently I've heard (tv ads) it's not at all the same.

Anything 'botulism' scare me too! eek

One of my runner girls had the shots in the back of her neck for headaches. Hasn't had one since. I think she said it had been 3-4 years.

There is a lot of discussion around here about "Essential Oils" and their benefit to asthma and allergies. I haven't checked into it yet but I'm hearing good things, with it being natural. Also hearing about its benefits for migraines. Anyone have any experience with it/them?

I'm attending a class on Essential Oils on Tuesday. If anything comes up related to headaches, I'll let you know!

I just got an email the other day from a friend who's into essential oils. She tells me to try mixing a drop each of peppermint oil, eucalyptus oil, lavender oil, and rosemary oil into a teaspoon of vodka. Shake and massage into both temples when I feel a migraine coming on. I mixed up a small amount and carry it with me in a small waterproof vial, just in case it offers some relief. Haven't had a migraine (knock wood) so I haven't tried this yet! Certainly couldn't hurt anything, so it's worth trying in my view. Of course, I'll probably wash down 2 Excedrin Migraine with some caffeinated beverage in addition, to try to head off the migraine.

You had me sold on the mix of oils until you got to the vodka...that's alcohol abuse! shocked

As I said, I haven't tried it yet. I'm not sure if I can either! I'll post an update if/when I try it.

Mulberry, if it doesn't work for migraines, the first two in the list make a good insect (mosquito and gnats) repellent...

2 tsp grain alcohol
4 tbs water
5 drops of oil

Put in a glass spray bottle. wink

Doesn't that keep you up all night? When I take Ex for Migraine any time near bed time, I don't sleep well. Plus I think mixing alcohol and acetaminophen is bad. Now the day after a night of drinking, definately.

How about not drinking so much that you become dehydrated.

Sorry I forgot what group (not a shot JJ) I was addressing laugh

I drink water when I drink wine so I don't get the dehydration headache. Helps tremendously.
