Did anyone else taking the exam notice that the lending/credit questions was not 35% of the exam?

Did you think it was more or less than 35%?

Exams vary from one test to the other. if it were less than 35%, it may have been done intentionally to prevent confusion.

With implementation of the new TRID disclosures, and changes to TIL & RESPA, the governing body may have wanted to eliminate those areas for possible confusion over what applies.

Only a guess - they did not ask for my opinion on test questions this time..................

Definitely less than 35%; more like 10%. It may have been because of TRID because there was literalyl 2 RESPA questiosns.

If they didn't include the 35/40% lending/Credit, then what was the bulk of it? That's odd..

There was a large amount of BSA. Felt like the CAMS test

You were absolutely correct. This test was not designed for Compliance Officers. It was meant for BSA officers. I took last week and I found very little loan/credit related questions. It seemed like every other question was BSA/AML related. I don't do BSA as we have a BSA officer who takes the CAMS test for their position. What happened to the breakdown we were given? It wasn't even close to what it said! And at the end there was no evaluation available to even tell anyone. It was suggested that we contact someone at ICB, but I don't know that it will help at all. This was horrible! I've spoken with others who have taken it in the past and they said it was not nearly that heavy in BSA, I'm not sure what is going on.

I also did not get an evaulation option after the test. I emailed Eureka and she said I could forward my opinions to her. Kind of hard to do this a week after the test and without the notes I made on the scratch paper.

Did you also experience what seemed like a high number of BSA questions as opposed to loans?

Also took test last week and the majority of questions were BSA & Privacy related. Definitely not 35-40% lending. I also was unable to access the evaluation. Anxiously awaiting results......

I have tried to contact two people at ABA regarding the evaluation issue and I haven't gotten any response from either. That is what I was told to do though...so don't know what to do about this.

It was suggested that as many of us as possible contact ABA to submit an evaluation, even if by email. Someone said they did one that way. I'm trying to get in contact with them as well. I took it last week too.

I emailed the individual that sent me the approval to take the test email. It took her a couple of days to respond back but I was able to forward my comments to her.

I sat for the exam on July 11th, and was also unable to access the evaluation at the end of the exam. However, I did receive an email on July 30th from the ABA asking me to provide feedback on my experience in taking the CRCM exam. I was able to explain my thoughts regarding the content of the exam within the comment section of the survey. Not sure if it's going to help or not, but at least I was able to express my thoughts.

I agree it was also heavily BSA heavy. I too added comments to the survey. Does anyone know of the 4 week wait is from the start of the exam window or the date of your individual exam?

The email stated that the exam results will be available within 4 weeks of the exam date. I'm assuming it means 4 weeks from the date you sat for the exam but I may be wrong.

I saw that as well however considering their test results evaluation process, it would seem to me they have to evaluate all results within the testing window (so for example this testing window was 7/10-7/18).

It's sad how much thought I've given to this. Give me the darn results already!!

I also did the evaluation that they sent out to everyone and gave my feedback regarding the content of the exam. I don't know if it will do any good either, but I commented on the extremely heavy BSA content as well. Seems there must be an issue with accessing the survey at the end of the exam. I took mine during the 10-18th window..so playing the same waiting game, but with such heavy BSA that is not my area of expertise I don't expect to get the positive result I'm hoping for. Good luck everyone!

Knee Deep in Regs
I have signed -up for the ABA online review course. Has anyone else taken this course and did you find it helpful?
I have received my ABA reference guide to regulatory compliance. Now I'm getting nervous.

Anyone from our bank taking the exam also takes the online course first. I found it to be beneficial; the reference guide felt more like a reprint of the regs. I think Carl Pry, the online presenter, does a nice job of trying to sufficient time on each subject. That being said, I still found the exam to be more BSA-intensive than I'd expected.

I am taking the online review course now through ABA. I think it has been helpful so far, but we will see when I take the exam in November. I am expecting it to be TRID heavy.
