Pulling people out of the ditc...
Does anyone else cringe when they see an out of office auto-reply that is grammatically incorrect or has typos? Or when an article is posted on the Bank intranet page with the same issues? Or a business proposal or project power point has these same issues? It only takes a few seconds to click that little button...but it saves a lot of grief.

or do we just assume that we can type business information much like we are texting and move on...

Cringe is putting it mildly.
Since I've been recognized as the office editor, most of the big stuff ends up on my desk to proof. But not auto-replies which, especially the ones with the inappropriate and very un-business like emoticons, make my skin crawl.
Setting your computer up to autocorrect helps some. But it still doesn't make up for taking a moment to proof what you wrote before committing to delivery.

One of my biggest pet peeves here - credit approvals that state the loan will be repaid with the house 'sales'. Just wow!

Marketing has more than once sent me something to review for compliance, and I've sent it back noting that all was in regulatory compliance, but I've marked up the spelling and grammar errors. The company the creates our ads has actually learned some basics of bank advertising rules, but they still have trouble with English.

(This is off-topic, but the same ad company, based in a semi-rural Midwestern city, was asked to put a little more diversity in the photos in an ad. They responded that they could change the one guy's shirt color to red. Sorry, that's not the kind of diversity we're after.)

Am to busy to spell police the world. They do not seem to be upset by it so I gave up trying to fix them years ago, and my heart rate is much lower these days. ^_^

I cringe every time auto-correct changes a text I send.

We must use the same company. The last time I marked up spelling and grammar I was not-so-politely told that the millennial tone was on purpose.

I just trained myself to use the little check mark that tells autocorrect to leave what I typed as I typed it.
But it's nbd with at least half the people I text who live in the land of idk and lol.

Not quite a spelling issue, but how about folks who say eKcetera (using phonetics here) as opposed to etcetera.

Burns my britches!

Or I have an employee who every time she calls and ask me for help, she finishes her conversation by saying "Thank Ya", not sure why, but it is like fingers on a chalk board.

Why did you capitalize "Bank"? Are you (or should I say "Our you"?) spending long hours proof-reading bank legal contracts where it's typically capitalized?

Can you tell that the misuse of "our" for "are" and vice versa is a pet peeve?

I have become more, rather than less, tolerant of what I used to consider gaffes in writing. I no longer get worked up over "who" and "whom." I've learned to accept the use of "they," "them" and "their" as inevitable third-person singular pronouns (I had to stop gritting my teeth over them because it began to hurt). I have stopped shuddering over "we are wanting to offer" and other non-standard uses of the verb "want," at least in informal writing (such as that found in these fora).

Life is too (not to) short to get ulcers over such stuff. English is a living language, and it's constantly changing.

And for those who care, "aks" is an older form of the word than "ask" is, notwithstanding its label as "non-standard."

And I have accepted that Alex Trebeck will never adopt the American English convention of placing commas and periods inside the quotation marks.

"I seen" seems to be gaining prevalence in my region.

My wife used the phrase the other day. I quickly corrected her. You really have to nip that in the butt as soon as it happens.

**When you see it**
