No time for futbol this weekend. I'm leaving on a golf trip as soon as I get out of the office. My beer this weekend is Sierra Nevada Torpedo.

I'm not a big soccer fan, but I have to say I watched more of the women's national team's friendly against japan than the NBA finals last night. More intrigue with the USA going down 2-0 in the first 20 minutes and then Japan having to play a woman down.

I'll probably watch the opener tonight an then forget about soccer as the finals heat up.

Samuel Smith's Organic Chocolate Stout. Discovered this on a business trip this week - amazing. And since it's organic AND vegan friendly, it must be good for me.

Just out of curiosity, how would a beer NOT be vegan friendly? As far as I know it doesn't normally contain any animal products.

the thought of drinking a chocolate flavored beer makes me shudder, almost as much as drinking one with fruit does. I am happy to report that Yuengling will be in our area by the end of June...

Chocolate is good. Beer is good. Just not together.

Yuengling is close to my heart as a Pennsylvania resident. Stout beers are subtly flavored, it's not like drinking a glass of chocolate milk. I am a big fan of stouts (including nitro stouts) and porters Samuel Smith's is hands down one of the best I've tasted. I can't get into all of the "It has subtle notes of chocolate, and roasted barley, with a slight coffee flavor on the finish" because I'm not that guy who sips beer with his pinky finger out and his nose in the air. I open the bottle with an old AC/DC bottle opener and pour it into a mug with my bank logo on it and drink it while watching Mountain Men on the History channel.

I thought I'd watch a little 2016 Copa America Centenario last night. I scrolled through the guide looking for Chile v Argentina. I found it, but got a message that I was not subscribed. So I kept looking and found it on a Spanish channel. It turns out I fall asleep to futbol as quickly in Spanish as I do in English.

Bolivia and Chile are playing tonight in Gillette Stadium in Foxboro, MA--Home of the NE Patriots. I have to drive past the stadium on my way home and I'm not looking forward to the traffic!

and the referee crew is American (if I remember my game assignments correctly)...center referee is a Texas native whose father was a FIFA referee from Mexico. really good guy that I have had the pleasure of working with many years ago, before he was a big dog in the referee world

Getting into San Diego for the ABA conference tomorrow just in time to catch the US game. Any takers for a real bar to watch the game?

US beats Ecuador 2-1 to advance to semi-finals...sadly, looks like we will be playing Argentina...but, drinks are free for now to celebrate
