We went to a new lending software mid-year and now have a couple of duplicate applications in the system that were input by the LO due to not understanding how the system works. I.e. there are applications that were generated by a customer asking for credit and then handled accordingly and then there are duplicates of the same exact applications, but the customer only applied once. Can we disregard the duplicates for HMDA reporting?

Sounds like purely a recordkeeping issue. What disposition would you report on these duplicates?

That's the problem, no clue what they would fall under (otherwise we would just report them and be done) - none of them really fit.

We would just delete the duplicate from the software. It's not an application, as stated above it's a recordkeeping issue.

Just make sure you have the application date correct if the application got entered into the correct system at a later date.
