Has anyone taken the CRCM utilizing anything other than the ABA CRCM test prep class? No know it would be beneficial to do so though. I would like to sit for the exam but unfortunately, I must pay for the test prep and exam myself. I’m trying to figure out the most economical way to become prepared. Any tools you recommend? I’m not prepared to pay a hefty test prep fee. Thanks!

I prepared for the CRCM without a test prep class. I purchased the Reference Guide to Regulatory Compliance. I reviewed the sections, and worked through all the self-study sections at the end of each section. Then I revisited any sections where I was not happy with my score on the self-study to ensure I understood the materials.

I prepared the same way as InFairness. You just have to be disciplined. I also used the online classes from the bank's online training.

I have heard from friends that took used the Reference Guide and took one of the ABA compliance schools that the reference guide was better aligned with CRCM test content. Not sure how the online prep courses compare.

I had use of the Reference Guide as well as the Online Prep Course. The prep course is a broad overview of specific sections and regulations. The Reference Guide is much more in depth. I really liked the online course, but I'm not entirely sure it would be worth paying out of pocket.
