Is there a way to find out why the OFAC list was so large for September 2024?

The Treasury publishes all recent changes to the SDN list on its website.

OFAC list? The OFAC list does not usually vary much between month to month. A number of additions and maybe subtractions but percentage wise, not much overall change. Not sure what you mean?

The OFAC file contained a little over a thousand potential hits. We had no hits. This number is higher than usual and my manager wants me to explain why to the board. ?

When I read this again, Randy, I wonder if the OP received a lot of false positives. Only their software provider can answer that question.

I once got a really long list of positive matches with the Iranian shipping vessel "Crystal" was added to the SDN list and my bank was located in Crystal Lake, Illinois. Pretty much every customer we had became an OFAC suspect that month.

This just happened to us today. We received over 900 hits when we might get at most 50 for a particular run. Did you get any answers from your vendor? We use LexisNexis Bridger.

After we cleared the 900 alerts, we got a notice from the vendor of an issue that generated excess alerts.
