Anyone else think it's unfair that MasterCard is requiring issuers to enroll in their SecureCode program for online shopping security. It's not that I don't think it's a good idea, but our processor is charging us a pretty penny for it.

I'm not familar with this program. Do you have link where I can read more?

Tony - here is some info - I am going back to my MC rep to see if my processor is being deceitful when they claim it's a November requirement. securecode I'll let you know if I find anything else out.

Visa has the same type of program. If we, the bank, don't sign up for it, we eat all the losses that our customers may incur shopping on the internet. It's going to be expensive one way or the other. We decided not to sign up just yet and see how much it cost us in reimbursements for 1 year to determine cost effectiveness.

Mastercard is telling me it is a requirement as of November.

I didn't think this was optional. In Operationl Bulletin #8 it lists the noncompliance assessments. But I believe that we have until 6/1/2005 until the fees are assessed. Am I understanding this correctly?
