A lawyer has called the Bank to see what we require to pay a judgement his client won against our customer. He submitted a Writ of Execution from a PA court which to our knowledge has not been appealed. Do we need a levy or garnishment issued by the county clerk to proceed? How do we protect the customer's privacy?

This is a state law issue. You should consult an attorney with experience in civil attachments, writs, judgments. Your state banking association may also be able to help you.

I'm sorry, I don't know the answer to your question, but the subject line really caught my attention!! I was afraid that all the loan officers and bank presidents got together and figured out a way to get rid of compliance officers!

1) I agree with John. Consult local counsel before giving up any money and see if your Deposit Agreement allows you to pass on that charge.

2) I was hoping the subject was a new empowerment tool for compliance officers, an aide in resolving violations, receiving audit follow ups, etc.
