When reading the article "Putting Fair Lending in the Proper Perspective" it referred to the OCC identifying seven banks that treated income differently for married co-applicants than for unmarried co-applicants.

Can you tell me any other resources/citations that pertain to this type of Fair Lending Issue?

There aren't any really good primary source articles on this. The place to look for authority is in the Commentary to Regulation B. 202.6(b)(1)-1 states: "creditors are barred from applying different standards in evaluating married and unmarried applicants." This piece of the Commentary was issued to "clarify" the position about consideration of income.
