Can someone tell me if the New Jersey drivers license expires on the birthday? We saw 2 NJ licenses that expired on the same day but not on the birthday.

My NJ driver's license expires on the last day of the expiration month. My license has a four year term.

Same here. I believe the Division of Motor Vehicles is gradually moving everyone to a 4-year license.

Recently we have been noticing that some NJ drivers licenses have 6 year terms. Has anyone else seen this?

Expiration date has nothing to do with birth date - all depends in what month you originally got your licence OR what month in which the license was re-newed - the expiration date is then the last day of the issuing month - for licenses issued in 2007 there IS a 6 year expiration term - I don't know about 2008.

Starter - 6 years - was that a change in 2007 as I know the old paper ones were 6 years but I thought the Digital DL's which started in '04 were only 4 years.

Data - Hope you don't get any customers down in Houston who still have the old NJ paper license w/ no photo - we still have to deal w/ handling those. They stopped issuing them in '04 but since they were 6 year license there will still be some out there until 2010.

You know what - my license is 6 years issued in beginning of 2007 - some other licenses I just looked at were issued later in 2007 that are 4 year expirations -

I spoke with Motor Vehichle and a limited number of NJ Drivers licenses per month have 6 year expiration dates vs. the normal four. This is to smooth out the number of drivers licenses being renewed per year. It is supposed to be temporary and all licenses should revert back to four year expirations.
