According to a study done by CBS, 8000 supermarkets now accept credit cards today, compared to 800 a year ago.

Customers who use credit cards in fast food restaurants tend to spend 25% to 40% more than other customers.

Movie houses that accept debit cards say it takes 7 seconds to record the transaction-the same or less time than it takes for them to make change for cash.

It is estimated that one third of all credit card customers pay their bill in full every month.

Sixty percent (60%) of financial institution customers in the United States have ATM cards. About 20% of them use the cards 10 or more times a month: 25% use the cards up to five times a month. 6% never use them.

A personal bankruptcy filing stays on an individual's credit history for ten years.

Financial institutions sold no mutual funds in 1982. In 1992, ten years later, they were responsible for 10% of all mutual fund sales.

During the first six months of 1992, financial institution mutual fund sales totaled $23.7 billion.

Financial institutions also sold 17.6% ($12.2 billion) of all annuities (investment contracts generally sold by life insurance companies) in 1992, up from 12% ($4 billion) in 1987.

Truck stops want ATMs, according to the ABA Banking Journal, May '93 issue. An interstate highway truck stop, on the average, gets about 13,000 truckers and up to 6,000 motorists a day in the way of traffic.

The truck stops that do have ATMs report the weekly dollar volume ranges from $1,750 to $40,000, with an average of 488 transactions.
